Welcome! Stadsgehoorzaal Vlaardingen is always on the lookout for new talent – how great that you're interested. On this page, you’ll find everything you need to know about the Podium Putman project, and you can sign up straight away! Applications are open until February 15, and by March 2 at the latest, you'll hear whether you've been selected.

This September marks the 30th anniversary of the passing of Marten Putman – a beloved and visionary theatre manager known for his creativity, wide-reaching network, and keen eye for new talent. Many major artists made their debut at the Stadsgehoorzaal thanks to him. To this day, our  current theatre team shares fond memories – some lived, some passed down – with each other, artists, and audiences.

As a tribute to Putman, we’ve created a project that fits both the current time and Putman's spirit: offering a platform for emerging talent!

Who can apply?
Fresh, talented stage performers (solo, duo, or groups) aged between 17 and 30, whether self-taught, still studying, or recent graduates. The six most surprising talents in music, theatre, cabaret, dance, mime, comedy, or circus will perform in one of the Duo Programs on Sunday, October 25 (2026), Sunday, January 31 (2027) or Sunday, June 6 (2027) at the Stadsgehoorzaal in Vlaardingen. You’ll hear whether you’ve been selected by March 2.

Important requirements

• You are between 17 and 30 years old.

• You are a self-taught performer, a student, or recently graduated from a performing arts program.

• Maximum performance duration: 30 minutes.

• Your act fits within the stage dimensions (8x4m, black box theatre) and technical specs: https://stadsgehoorzaal.nl/ruimte-harmonie

• You are available on one of the mentioned dates from 11:00 to 19:00h (rehearsals during the day, showtime at 15:00h).

• Scenery is allowed if it meets safety regulations and can be set up and taken down within 10 minutes.

• You will use the venue's basic lighting and sound (additional technical wishes can be discussed).

• The project will go ahead if there are at least 10 participants (this will be confirmed no later than March 2).

What’s in it for you?

• 30 minutes of fame during Podium Putman

• A performance fee of € 750 (excl. VAT) per selected act

• A video registration en pictures of the act
